Summer Holiday Events at Port Lympne

Come along to Port Lympne Reserve, Kent, this summer holiday as we celebrate our Animal Champions and take part in a host of free activities and games with a sporting theme.  You can win prizes when you take part in our Animal Champion Trail and join in with our 40th Birthday fun!  Each week we’ll be looking at amazing animal athletes and inviting our visitors to flex their muscles, test their prowess and show off their skills to see if they can match our incredible animals strengths!

Tiger Strength In Stripes
Saturday 23rd July – Sunday 31st July 2016

Join us at Port Lympne this week from Saturday 23rd July to Sunday 31st July as we highlight the incredible strength of our tigers.  We’ll be holding special fact packed tiger talks every day this week, plus you can try to earn your stripes with our special tiger strength activities! With International Tiger Weekend being celebrated around the world from 29th – 31st July, you’ll have a grrreat time every day this week.

Wild Dog Week
Monday 1st August – Sunday 7th August 2016

This week we’re shining the spotlight on our wild dogs.  Every day this week you can join our Education Presenters to learn more about these impressive hunters during fact packed talks and activities.  Try our sense of smell test to see if you’ve got the best nose around plus take part in our fun relay race to see if you’ve got the stamina to join the pack!

Cheetahs Super Sprint
Monday 8th August – Sunday 14th August 2016

Cheetahs are the fastest land mammal over short distances, hitting top speeds of 70mph.  Come along to Port Lympne this week to see fast you can complete our 20 metre sprint!  Plus, learn more about these impressive speed machines with free talks taking place every day.  Meanwhile, on Wednesday 10th August, we’ll go roaring mad for lions as we celebrate World Lion Day with a host of free talks and activities.

Tapir Splash Down
Monday 15th August – Sunday 21st August 2016

Port Lympne Reserve is home to five Malayan tapirs.  These beautiful ungulates are expert swimmers and you can discover more about them and their skills every day at the Tapir House.  Join our Education Presenters for free activities and take a nosey behind the scenes in their indoor house. Plus, on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21stAugust we’ll be crashing on with lots of rhino themed activities and events to celebrate World Rhino Day – enjoy rhino house tours, rhino themed games and more!

Gorillas – Core Strength Climbing
Monday 22nd August – Sunday 28th August

Join us this week as we go ape over our champion gorillas!  Take part in free activities and games, including our popular puzzle feeder game and our brand new climbing game!  The Education Presenters will be holding fact packed talks so you can discover more about our impressive gorilla champions, every day at 12.00pm and 15.00pm, at the Palace of the Apes and also over at the bachelor groups.

Gibbons Gymnastic Fantastic
Monday 29th August – Sunday 4th September

Test your gymnastic skills every day this week, when you try to see if you can hang around, for as long as a gibbon on our specially adapted monkey bar!  Join our Education Presenters for a touch of gibbon karaoke as you try to mimic their singing skills and don’t miss out on our fantastic free animal talks taking place every day around the Reserve.
