Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, Kent’s largest wild animal park, is appealing for the public’s help to choose names for three adorable lion cubs, born at the 600-acre wildlife park, earlier this year.

The cubs, a male and two females, have been delighting day visitors and overnight guests at Lion Lodge, alongside thousands of Cub Cam viewers from around the world, with their playful antics.

Richard Barnes, Animal Manager, said: ‘All our visitors, supporters and guests love seeing the cubs and the cute trio have sparked so much interest, that we’ve decided to appeal to the cub fans to help us name them. We’ve picked a selection of names and the ones with the most votes will be chosen.’

For the first time, those wishing to choose a name can vote online, or at the Reserve’s Gatehouse when they visit, by simply donating £1 per vote.

Jonathan Buckingham-Dudley, Digital Marketing Manager said: ‘It’s so easy to vote.  Just visit our Cub Cam page on our website, click on the name you like, which will take you to our online shop, where you can vote as many times as you like for just £1 per go! If you would like to vote for more than one name, just tap ‘continue shopping’. Or, come and see the cubs for yourself and at the end of your visit, pop into the Gatehouse to make your name selection.’

The naming vote launches on Friday 30th August and will close on Monday 30th September, with the chosen names announced via Port Lympne’s social media channels, on Tuesday 1st October.

Each vote donation will go towards the continued welfare, care and enrichment of the Port Lympne lion pride, 20% of the funds will go directly to The Aspinall Foundation.

Meanwhile, the wildlife reserve, near Ashford has announced the return of their popular Kids Go Free offer, which will see every child, between 3 and 15 years old, receive free entry, with every paying adult.  To claim the Kids Go Free offer, visitors must download a valid Kids Go Free voucher from the park’s website.
